Four times a year, we meet on a Saturday for lunch and social interaction at area restaurants. We try to discover restaurants with German cuisine and atmosphere and welcome members' suggestions of suitable venues. These gatherings are informal occasions for exchange of ideas and experiences, where we highlight poetry on varying themes or by featured authors. Thus, our first lunch outing celebrated Goethe's birthday on 28 August. Since we need to make reservations, click to RSVP to Sherie Day and check time and locations.

For our first poetry lunch in 2010, we gather downtown on Saturday, February 20, 12:30 pm, at Cafe Mozart.  Our theme is "Love and Loss."  We end the year on Saturday, June 5, at Cafe Berlin, with the seasonally-appropriate theme "German Poetry and Song."  Again, bring an appropriate poem to share if you like!  (Transportation Reminder:  the McPherson Square Metro stop is within easy walking distance.  Metered parking on the street (2 hours max.) is limited; a public garage (two blocks west) is often available as well.
